 Who Are We
The Vintry was established in 1991. Since then
we have operated out of our shop in Rathgar n Dublin 6. We are a retail
outlet
with a web site as opposed to an ecommerce venture.

What Do We Do
We carry a full range of fine wines including older
vintages, an extensive range of spirits and craft beers as well as a
small selection of cigars and
glassware. We provide a full party service as well as a
presentation and gift wrapping service including customised gift cases
- the ideal Wedding or Christmas present. The other side to our
business is
education and we are always happy to give corporate tastings at
your business (including food and wine evenings) and we are partners
with Rathmines College in their Evening Wine Appreciation Course.
How Do We Do
It
The emphasis at The Vintry is on employing highly
trained people. Our staff members hold between them 4
Certificates-4 Higher Certificates-2 Distinctions-2 Diplomas all of
which were awarded by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust which is the
recognised training body within the wine industry. One of our
staff members is also a respected food and wine journalist with a wine
column in a daily national newspaper. In addition to this our
staff have recieved extensive training in matching wine and food and
through our education arm taste the wines on a weekly basis. We like to
couple this knowledge with a down to earth practical approach which
recognises your different needs, whether its the Monday night bottle
with a pizza, a function, or corporate gifts.
How Well Do
We Do It
OK Now we are going to crow a little bit!
We compete most years in the National
Off-Licence Association (NOffLA) Awards and have many awards including Natiional Off Licence of the Year on
two occasions. In 2018 we won the National Off-Licence
Customer Service Award.
Evelyn Jones (owner of The
Vintry) is a former Chairman of NOffLA and is their current Government
Affairs Director, she is active in promotion of the Independent
Off-Licence Sector.
We
have received Bridgestone and Mckenna Guides Awards
every year from 1998 to 2021
We have also achieved the Foundation
Mark of business excellence awarded by excellence Ireland
